 Studying Abroad

A study abroad program is a great way to expand your cultural horizons while earning credit and enhancing your educational experience.   Studying abroad is also a great way to meet people from around the world, make new friends, and strengthen language skills.  Living in a new city also allows you the opportunity to explore a new environment, taking in art, history, and local events that would not be available at home.  A study abroad program can also help you gain valuable experience and perspective that can help make you competitive in the new global economy.  For some a study abroad experience may be the first time they travel overseas—however for many it may be the trigger that sets off a lifelong habit of international travel.

Studying abroad with World Endeavors allows you to:

  • Earn credit and enhance your educational experience
  • Strengthen your language skills or learn a new language
  • Experience a new culture first-hand
  • Meet people from around the world and make new friends
  • Explore a new place and experience art, history, and events not available to you at home
  • Gain valuable experience that will help make you competitive in the new global economy

Who Studies Abroad

Students who choose to study abroad know that it’s a great way to build their credentials and future resume while taking advantage of opportunities to learn both inside and outside of the classroom.   Students who study abroad gain cultural fluency and a more global perspective, not to mention the opportunity to meet and maintain lifelong friends in their host country.  If you are ready to stretch your comfort zone and explore your world while continuing to work towards your degree, a study abroad program through World Endeavors could be a great fit.

Eligibility

Applicants to study abroad with World Endeavors must have completed high school (or equivalent), and in most cases must be at least 18 years of age.  While some programs have minimum GPA requirements and require that applicants be currently enrolled in a college or university, others are open to all participants regardless of age or student status.  Please see the pages for our study abroad programs for more details, or contact a World Endeavors advisor.

Perspectives

My study abroad experience definitely affected my future plans. It changed how I think about myself, my field, and international relations. It helped make me aware of events beyond U.S. borders.
