The kindergarten is located in the Tigman area of Palawan and the children who attend are between the ages of 3 and 5. Your primary task will be to communicate with the children using English and teaching them the language in a fun way. Besides teaching, you will also support the local staff with the caretaking of the children. This task can range in activities, from organizing classes, playing games and guiding activities to feeding, cutting nails, combing hair and so on. The children are always interested in learning more about foreign lands and you are encouraged to bring pictures from your country, friends, family, etc or objects that highlight your culture in order to promote intercultu

You will be able to work in one of the 4 classrooms available and assist the teaching staff. Most classes have between 10-15 children.

In the morning you will pick the kids up, play some games and maybe sing some songs in the school yard and then you will lead them to their classroom. Once they are settled in, you can engage with the children with different learning activities that may include teaching English and helping them practice writing in their notebooks. You can even use other creative and fun ways to help them learn basic tasks through songs, dance or games.

You can join a dedicated team of local staff in their efforts to help Ghanaians in need, by teaching, renovating, and completing various other tasks.

The teaching staff are often overworked and therefore welcome any help that can be given. Working as a teacher’s assistant in the school or taking on other projects provides the staff with invaluable support and often frees-up their time to give the children the one-to-one attention they need.
