Program Overview

Develop Spanish language skills in a country where the language is integral to daily life, while also advancing your career and personal growth.  This two-phase program offers an individualized experience that will leave you a more confident Spanish speaker and professional.

Phase One:
Spend four weeks taking Spanish language classes with our in-country instructional partner. Classes will help students expand Spanish vocabulary skills beyond greetings or typical phrases. Developing language skills in-country encourages deeper cultural immersion and meaningful connections with local community members. Newly acquired language skills can be utilized on the job or during personal exploration time in Mexico. The goal of these classes is to become more comfortable making conversation and presenting yourself confidently in a professional environment.

Phase Two:
The following eight weeks take place at your individualized internship. Prior to departure, the World Endeavors team will help you find an internship in Cuernavaca that suits your academic background, skill set, and goals. You’ll take everything you’ve learned in your prior Spanish lessons and apply it to a real work setting where you’ll be assigned hands-on projects.

PROVEN RESULTS

Career Conversion: On average, 1 in 7 participants receives a job offer or contract extension following their placement.

Global Networking: Find an internship within 15+ available industries in Cuernavaca’s thriving professional community.

CV-Ready Skill Mastery: Gain hands-on experience with in-demand skills relevant to your industry.

Finding Your Internship

After applying, you’ll be invited to set up a meeting with one of our Program Advisors. This meeting will be a time to discuss any of your academic achievements, prior work experience, overall professional goals, interests, and preferences. From there, we will work with our in-country team in Mexico to find an internship that’s right for you.

Every internship experience is different. Check out one of our past interns’ experiences in Mexico:

MATTHEW, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP

“My Spanish skills were ok since I had studied Spanish for 4 years, but I had never been confident in it.  I didn’t really use it much where I lived in Southern California, so I had to work on rebuilding my vocabulary, and now I am a lot more confident in my Spanish-speaking ability”

Mexico FAQs

Mexico is located in North America, bordered to the north by the United States, to the south and west by the Pacific Ocean, to the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea, and the east by the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a country with diverse landscapes, ranging from deserts and mountains to tropical forests and beautiful coastlines. Mexico serves as a bridge between North and Central America.

The capital of Mexico is Mexico City (Ciudad de México or CDMX).

Mexico is famed for its melding of indigenous and Spanish cultures, resulting in vibrant traditions like the Day of the Dead and mariachi music. Its varied landscape boasts beaches, mountains, and historical sites like Chichen Itza. Renowned for dishes like tacos and guacamole, its cuisine is globally celebrated. The energetic pulse of Mexico City epitomizes its rich heritage and modern aspirations.

Safety in Mexico varies by region. While tourist hubs like Cancún and Mexico City are generally safe, some areas with drug cartel activity pose risks. Travelers should avoid certain parts, exercise caution at night, avoid protests, use trusted transportation, and avoid displaying wealth. Staying in tourist zones is advised.
