Location
Ranked by UNESCO as one of the world’s most peaceful countries and a hidden gem among Mediterranean destinations, Croatia is a sight to behold for any traveler. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world line Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, while the interior of the country is punctuated by the soaring peaks of the Dinaric Alps. Forests blanket half the country, with idyllic karst springs and lakes tinted turquoise and mint green by dolomite and limestone providing hidden retreats for locals and tourists alike.
ZSEM is located in peaceful northwestern Zagreb, combining the serenity of the suburbs with the bustle of an urban campus. Just a half-hour tram ride away from campus lies downtown Zagreb, an energetic culture hub. Zagreb’s bright orange skyline is dotted with countless ornate neo-Renaissance buildings like the Croatian National Theatre and the Museum Mimara. The gregarious traveler will especially enjoy the lively Dolac Market or the Trg Bana Jelačića, a square at the heart of the city where all Zagrebers mix and mingle every day. Chic and opulence come together in Zagreb to make for an unforgettable travel experience.
Housing
Students are housed in shared apartments located close to campus.
Life in Zagreb
Zagreb is the modern heart of the newest member of the European Union. One of the largest financial and industrial centers in the Balkans, Zagreb continues to grow into the 21st century. Home to the national museums of Croatia, world class opera halls and some of the largest festivals in the region.
One of the largest populations of students in the Balkans where English is used as a common language, this location offers students the ability to live in a world class city that is incredibly manageable. Seen as a growing gastronomical destination this city has something for everyone.

World Endeavors study abroad programs offer full support, starting with airport pickup and accommodation transfer upon arrival followed by an on-site orientation covering health, safety, and local tips. After successful completion of a program, academic credit and transcripts will be issued by ZSEM, which is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
The World Endeavors process is designed to take the guesswork out of academic credit and credit transfers. Our experienced advisors work with each student and his or her academic advisor before the program begins to ensure students earn the credit expected for courses taken abroad.
All programs offered to international students at ZSEM are taught in English and most people in Croatia have a decent command of English, but some Croatian is always helpful.
