About Marketing Internships Abroad
The field of marketing is tremendously diverse, taking interns to different countries and companies depending on their interests and goals. International marketing interns may work for a wide variety of companies, from advertising agencies to the marketing departments of various companies, including hotels, schools, and wineries. Some interns work with their host companies’ websites and run promotions through social media; others liaise with clients, translate promotional materials, or manage internal company communications. In all of these settings, interns work with the planning, development, and implementation of marketing strategies. Some administrative support and research work may also be part of marketing interns’ responsibilities.

Eligibility for Internships Abroad
Successful international interns have a strong desire to learn more about their chosen field, as well as to immerse themselves in a new culture and environment. World Endeavors looks for applicants who are hard working, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous professional work experience, academic coursework in the chosen field, or international experience is helpful but is not a requirement to participate in a World Endeavors international internship. In addition, foreign language proficiency is not a requirement for participation; even in non-English speaking countries, many English-language internships are available.
World Endeavors’ minimum age for participation is 18. There is no maximum age for participation. Due to the customized nature of our internship placements, interns at all stages of their careers are welcome on the program. Other Considerations for Marketing Internships
Good communication and interpersonal skills are a top priority for working in this field. Interns who are familiar with social media will have an advantage in some placements. Interns planning to live and work in a new country should be adaptable, self-motivated, and organized, and able to work well both individually and in teams.
