About Interning in Spain
Spain is the land of passionate flamenco dancing, thrilling bullfights, world class professional soccer, delicious paella, world renowned wine, and the language and culture that have influenced so many other countries all over the world. Interns who choose Spain as their destination have the opportunity to immerse themselves in this passionate and centuries-old culture, where multi-generational families remain tight-knit, and traditional foods are savored by proud locals. Students and graduates who intern in Spain gain meaningful professional experience in their career field, while also working on their Spanish language skills. And during their free time, interns can explore Spain’s many unique regions and cities, or travel farther afield to other European destinations.
Interns can expect to work side by side with local colleagues, receive direction from a manager or staff member, and behave just as one would in a real job. On weekends or after work hours, interns engage in a host of activities depending on each participant’s tastes. Interns share meals with new friends or host family members, take in cultural events, explore the city, or even take day or weekend trips outside of the area. World Endeavors provides a list of possible activities in the area and the World Endeavors local coordinator can also function as an ever present guide and ambassador to the area.
Language Training
World Endeavors’ Internship in Spain program includes two weeks of intensive Spanish language training. Interns take 4 hours of Spanish language classes each day, and they benefit from small class sizes and a range of levels of instruction from beginning through advanced. Interns who wish to take more than two weeks of language classes prior to beginning their internship may request a specialized quote from World Endeavors.
