FRIEND PROGRAMS

FRIEND PROGRAMS

Many World Endeavors participants are interested in traveling with a friend or with a few friends. Travel buddies get to share their experience abroad, encourage and support each other over the course of their trip, and share memories when they return home. World Endeavors’ staff are happy to work with groups of up to five friends who want to travel together. These groups might choose to share housing or live separately, and they may participate in the same study, intern, or volunteer program or separate ones, depending on their preference and the available facilities in the host country. Larger groups may be interested in planning a custom group program.

TRAVEL WITH A FRIEND DISCOUNT

FAQs

Can my friend and I live in the same housing?
We are usually able to accommodate requests from friends to share the same housing. Friends who would like to live together are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to ensure we are able to place you in a housing option that can accommodate multiple participants.

Can my friend and I work at the same volunteer project?
Most of the time, yes. Volunteer placements are made in conjunction with the host organization, so as long as the organization is able to handle more than one volunteer, we can place you together. Again, we encourage you to apply as early as possible to assist us in placing you at an organization that can accept multiple volunteers.

Do my friend and I need to submit our applications together?
It does help our advisors if you submit your applications around the same time, but there is no need to submit them together. You can note your friend’s name in the comments field on the application, and we will connect your applications in our system once they are both received.
