Comprised of over 7,000 tropical islands dotting the South China Sea, the Philippines stretch across a vast expanse of ocean. The country’s diverse ecosystems along with its even more diverse cultural history make it one of the most fascinating destinations in the world. Home to lively festivals, noisy cities and villages, beaches too lovely to describe, and tropical rainforests, the Philippines is truly a unique jewel in Southeast Asia. These beauties are trumped only by the Philippines’ most stunning treasure, the warm and irrepressible Filipino people.

Perspectives

Volunteering in the Philippines was a life-changing experience. My host family, the staff, and the neighborhood in general were very supportive and made me feel at home. The community seemed to have a very strong bond and I never felt lonely.
